Waking Life again
Thanks for the treat, people. Sorry couldn't stay but no one else in the house and guess once I started watching Waking Life again got too absorbed into it. The music really is astounding and I have been combing record stores for the soundtrack.

Quite a number of proposals ending up at my desk. Well I hope some of them bear fruit.

Heat and Wedding
Went to a friend's wedding where I didn't know anyone else, except vaguely. Took some photos to keep myself busy and left shortly after the reception. Guess I'll skip the wedding dinner tomorrow night. Too much trouble.

Just remember I forgot to pass the angpao. Argh. Oh well.. maybe will treat them to dinner or something.
Quote of the Day

Proposition
Bumped into a video producer friend and he offered me a post at his company to join in as a partner. Money would depend on the stuff I bring in. It does sound attractive and will be taking a look at his office next Wednesday. Originally was just considering getting a desk and a seat away from home where the bed is just too much of a distraction. It is tempting but will be a while before any work starts coming in. But definitely worth considering.

Sorrow

Sorrow like a ceaseless rain
Beats upon my heart.
People twist and scream in pain, --
Dawn will find them still again;
This has neither wax nor wane,
Neither stop nor start.

People dress and go to town;
I sit in my chair.
All my thoughts are slow and brown:
Standing up or sitting down
Little matters, or what gown
Or what shoes I wear.
  - Millay, Edna St. Vincent
Ok she knows..
And I get the lecture. When she was cradling the baby, she was saying to baby how anxious she was over me. Aiya Mom I'm not going to run out of money and STARVE anytime soon. I think I'm resourceful enough to get enough money to pay rent and the bills and get by even when I'm running my company. Well so far it's been encouraging. Talked to a few people and they generally like the idea. I can't wait to see the first drafts of the 'project' out.
Reediting
Ouch. Reediting my book was painful. I'm ok with the first four and last two chapters, but the part in the middle plainly sucked. It was outright depressing and angsty. At least I hope I never write like that again.

Another Day
Been sleeping in too much. Will try to hit the pool as I've been feeling lethargic lately. Time to get organised and get working on the business plan etc!
Mom knows
Waiting for the lecture...
Forget Adam King
I really don't know who the stupid fuck is who came up with Guiness' Adam King campaign, but I think it's stupid and an insult to photojournalists who have risked life and limb getting real photographs. They're not self-help gurus and rarely ever go around trumpeting their achievements. Their photos speak for themselves, like these from Ami Vitale. Beautiful.

Mondays Feel Good When You Don't Have To Go In
Yeap.

Listening to: Thievery Corporation - It Takes A Thief (Anybody has more of their stuff?)
Run Around
Lots of running around today. Church, and then met up with SH who did a pic of me for the book. I don't want a photo, and the editor doesn't want to put a blank so this is the compromise. The pic doesn't look like me, which is fine. Then off to meet WL for lunch and coffee where we griped about the whole sucky situation for production houses in Singapore. After that, off to Teban Gardens to look at a double bed but shouldn't have bothered. It looked too old and dusty. After that met up with Stirling for dinner and then back home. Been watching SNAP 2 which is quite dumb but addictive. Kym is quite funny but Bryan is kinda forced. Still they're excellent hosts.

Looking forward to a mostly empty Monday. But I need to keep busy. Dang it...
