Went over to Aquafire where Tania was opening her place. Nice digs and she even has a Steinbeck. Remember cutting film on those. The bunch I with talked about weird names, such as Swallow Kuok, and Annie How. Fun evening. Got back at 2 and crashed; wandered over to Sim Lim to check out speakers but not sure what to get that can have DTS sound. Need to check up with John. Hope it won't set me back too much.

Another friend's wish list. :) All the things one can't afford.. sigh. :) Will an X'mas card do?
Natalie Merchant has the most amazing lyrics:

Lately I've been walking all alone through the wind and through the rain, been walking through the streets and finding sweet relief in knowing that it won't be long.

Lately it's occurred to me that I've had enough of that and lately I've been satisfied by simple things like breathing in and breathing out.

Never again, not in this life will I be taken twice. Never again no, never on your life will I make that same mistake. I can't make it twice.

Lately it's occurred to me exactly what went wrong. I realized I compromised, I sacrificed far too much for far too long.

Never again, not in this life will I be taken twice. Never again no, never on your life will I make that same mistake. I can't make it twice.

Starting out from here today, swear I'm gonna change my ways. Once mistaken in this life, but never twice.

Never again, no, not in this life will I be taken twice. Never again no, never on your life will I make that same mistake. Never again no, never on your life will I make that same mistake. I can't make it twice.

Starting out from here today, swear I'm gonna change my ways. Never again no, never in this life gonna make that same mistake, gonna make it twice.
- Not In This Life
Went to Seoul Garden with rest of the colleagues. They now use coal instead of gas, which I guess is cheaper. Food wasn't too bad, as always, though it took a while to cook. Also bought Uzumaki (Spiral Horror) the Japanese horror movie, based on the comic book, as well as Natalie Merchant's new album Motherland. Eager to try both.

I see someone has a very hard core wish list. I have the Portable MBA book, by the way, 3 Tap. And what, no Priscilla, Queen of the Desert DVD and no makeup tips books? I'm dissapointed!
Gave in and ordered The Simpsons Season 1 DVD. Aye caramba!
Saw Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone yesterday and thought it was mediocre. The film got very dark at the end, going into Tim Burton-like territory. Certainly the book isn't all that happy cheer, but the mood and tone deviated too much from the novel even if the plot kept to that of the book. I doubt if it would be much of a hit if the movie didn't already have the huge fan base of the book. Need to get the review out for BigO pronto. Fortunately it'll be a short review.

Went to JB with some friends yesterday. Not much of a jam since it was Monday. Acquired DVDs for Amores Perros, Best in Show, Toy Story 2 and Cats and Dogs. Just realised there's a dog in every one of the shows. (Toy Story 2 has Slinky Dog) Should have gone Daiman to eat but instead ended up at this Malay restaurant near the beach. SC can be a bit fussy sometimes. Walked from there to customs, which took about 10 minutes. Not a pleasurable walk though, since the Straits of Johor stink and the traffic was pretty heavy.
