Finished John Grisham's The Brethen yesterday. Quite readable though some parts don't seem very plausible. It's about three ex-judges who conduct a blackmail scheme while doing time. They manage to snare a future President of the United States in their scheme. Good idea but runs out of steam halfway, and Grisham isn't as readable as King, my favourite page-turner. Was looking for a copy The Talisman which he wrote with Peter Straub at the bookstore but no luck. Might have to pick something else up.

There are living among two dutiful daughters. Of a man who possesses two beautiful daughters, you cannot know nor yet try to guess, the sweet soothingness of their caress, the outstanding genius of this pair is understood by few, they are so rare... compared with these two, every man is a fool, the world is most honoured that they should deign to rule, and I worship the power of these lovely two, with that adoring love known to so few. 'Tis indeed a miracle, one must feel, that two such heavenly creatures are real, hatred burning bright in the brown eyes with enemies for fuel, icy scorn glitters in the gray eyes, contemptuous and cruel. Why are men such fools they will not realize, the wisdom that is hidden behind those strange eyes and these wonderful people are you and I.

Lord of the Rings is in good hands.

My AWS comes in on the 10th next month. Yes, it looks like I'll blow it on DVDs and maybe a wardrobe. I really need to throw out lots of stuff. Should I just throw out my magazines? What is the likelihood of rereading them again? Especially with so much to read every week already... yeah maybe I should just dump them. (They're in too poor condition to resell, sadly.) That would empty my room in a jiffy.
Oh.. such Temptation...
HATE shopping in town. Too many people, and just getting crushed by crowds. ARGH!

Half done with my bookcase then reaslied I didn't have a hammer. Sis in law loaned me a power drill and other carpentry tools I don't know nuts about, but no hammer. Oh well, will borrow, beg or steal so can finish it tomorrow.

Another airplane just crashed in NYC, and now they're showing Fox News and the information just keeps repeating itself over and over. Bits of new information come streaming in to join the flow, but that's only once in a while. Information stagnation.
Some people paint, write, and some... do this.
As Ace fights desperately against the zombies, he remembers the whistle. He blows on it, and like Goldar from the Space Giants, Guitar Wolf immediately senses that Ace in in danger. They mount up their flame-spewing vehicles and head off into the night to help their rock 'n' roll blood brother.
- Review of Wild Zero. Fun.

Picked up this comic book, Uzumaki (Spiral Horror), yesterday and read that there's a movie. Found this site and reading through the horror reviews. Think the Film Fest could use some of the Jap zombie flicks for it's midnight madness stuff. Read the reviews for Uzumaki, Wild Zero and Haveli.
Well more spending. Brought a TV rack and a bookshelf (finally!) Managed to squeeze in time to watch Next Stop Wonderland; Borrowed the DVD but it had glitches so had to settle for the VCD instead. Quite a nice, sweet film. Hope Davis is absolutely gorgeous but infused with too much sadness. When she smiles it's like clouds lifting. Some of the pieces are too coincidental, and Brad Anderson fills in all the gaps, but it's very well down even though it rarely sits back to take a breath; only at the end when the two would-be-lovers meet. Liked it enough to buy the soundtrack.

Anyway, 3Tap, since it's your fave non-Audrey Hepburn movie, explain what's the deal with the linoleum?
