My DVD List
Check out the DVDs I have no time to watch here!
Moving... Keep on Moving
Helped my brother move practically whole of yesterday. His new place is on the fourth floor, so the movers had a heck of a time moving his 60+ boxes, wardrobe, refrigerator, washing machine, cupboards, buddhist statues (VERY HEAVY) and potted plants up. I wonder how much the Bangladeshi workers got paid. My brother thinks it's $50 but I doubt so. That'd be a lot of money to them. Not that they don't deserve it, but doubt if they would receive that much. It's definitely back breaking work!

Listening to: Horowitz - Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23

By the way, have permission to keep the Film Festival discussion board going. So do post your thoughts on movies. ANY type. They're discussing Spider Man, AOTC and many other things. Join in the fray!
Web tales
Saw Spider Man which I thought was pretty good. Smart of them to approach the movie from the point of a love story. They kept much of the comic book in the movie, and while it's cheesy it's also effective. In the comic book version his first love Gwen Stacy dies in one of Spidey's battles with The Green Goblin, and while Parker does marry Mary Jane Watson they eventually seperate. That's a bit too much like real life.
Jai Guru Deva Om
Some songs stick in your head....

Across The Universe

Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
Are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world (x4)

Images of broken light
Which dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box
They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world (x4)

Sounds of laughter shades of earth
Are ringing through my open views
Inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love
Which shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world (x4)

Can one forgive?
Quite eloquent, though he avoids answering the question altogether.

There is a savage, dark part in all of us; we're capable of wounding each other out of sheer devilry. The people we love are not harmless; none of us is an angel. With our appetites and our self-deceptions, we are dangerous to each other even as we love each other.
The Hire
Watched the DVD for BMW's The Hire films. Not too bad. I like the Ang Lee short. The last one about a war photographer is too heavy-handed though, and the dialogue stinks. Guy Ritchie's short which features Madonna isn't too bad. She says the c--- word but you won't see it in the subtitles. Wong Kar Wai's The Follow wasn't very strong, but had some stunning visuals.
Wonder if there'll be any sequels.
Goneded Case?
Publisher asked if I could remove the swear words from my book. Hmm.. should I or shouldn't I? It's so old already. Would it hurt? Guess I need a RA and a non-RA version...

Reasons for POS
Found out that the reason why there's dog poo and shit in the living room is because the new guy has been letting the dogs out of J's room. (You assume a guy who was earning $15k a month would know better. And know WHY the floor is so bloody sticky.) Told him not to. Going to do some major house cleaning today since I'm on MC. The lag has caught up with me and think I've managed to reinfect myself. Got a sore throat but nothing too serious. Just feeling fatigued.
Good going Pierre
He can't act, but at least his heart is in the right place. The video company I worked with used him once and he wasn't very good. I guess this qualifies for his biggest role yet, or ever. Here's hoping Andrea recovers.
Flued
Think I'm coming down with something again. MC today? Probably. The jet lag hit quite badly and now I'm awake again. Guess I really shouldn't have tried jumping back to work so soon after flying back.

The pups are shitting all over the place. Everytime I'm in the living room there's a piece of shit on the floor. Yesterday morning found some in my room. Don't know how it got there. Sigh. If you can't control your dogs definitely don't keep them. Having four dogs is just way too much and she's still trying to sell them for a profit. Just get rid of them and spay the two horny things, damn it!

Driving a fast car
Well, as good as any other reason for a web site...
Getting screwed
Got screwed by the chee bai who moved out. Basically he got the tenant to pay back HIS two months deposit and I have to fork out the rent UNLESS the guy gets a job, when from his initial email it was agreed that the two months would be divided between paying back his deposit AND the rent. Then he claims I didn't help him find anyone when it would have been HIS responsibility to find someone to take over his room like the last guy who got an agent. Fucking asshole. This new guy who took over said he earned $15k a month but got wiped out in a financial transaction. So anyone looking for a Financial Officer or investment banking let me know. Sigh. Sheesh. Bloody angmoh prick.
Lag
Jet lag feels like you have your brains parked in another building. It's like your brain is on morse code after it's been trasmitting on fiber optics.

New apartment mate
Well some guy took over the new place. Will find out more about him tonight I guess. Kind of apprehensive because he might not have a job yet. Sheesh. Actually it's illegal so he better find something soon.
Wake up..
Well time to wake up and get to work. Well I realised I didn't miss San Francisco as much as I missed the Bay Area and California. Biggest pleasure was driving the SUV around, especially along the coastal route. (Took a while to get used to driving on the other side of the road.) Stopped along the beach and went down to touch the waters. Wildflowers are abloom since it's spring, and the days are getting longer.

At SF spent time mucking around usual spots; Haight Ashbury, Golden Gate Park and Fisherman's Wharf. Only noteworthy thing at the last place are the bunch of sea lions that lounge around on one of the piers. Actually I didn't enjoy the city that much.Would have loved to do some trekking in Muir Woods or the Santa Cruz mountains instead. Maybe I'm not much of a city boy...

Also saw a most gorgeous sight in Santa Barbara; a huge gibbous moon floating over the waters bright as a street lamp. A sight to behold.

So it's back to the Real World, or is it? Ah well.. time to wash up and stagger to work. Going to be hard to get over the jet lag.
Back
And will update more later. Plane landed at 1 am. Man am I going to suffer at work tomorrow.
